Heating: Pricing and payment

Do you have a senior discount?
Yes! We offer an extra 2 cents off per gallon to those folks over 60. This is on top of our customary 11 cent discount for payment within 30 days of delivery. Customers on a price protection plan are not eligible for the senior discount.

What is the cost of propane?
The price per gallon is dependent on the amount of propane used. For example: the customer using propane for cooking only will use about 75 gallons annually. The customer using propane for total heating may be using upwards of 700 gallons annually. As the annual usage increases the price per gallon decreases. How are you using propane, and what appliances are in operation at your house or business?

How many days do I have to pay until my price goes up?
You have 30 days to pay at our low cash price, a little better than the 10 days most other companies offer.

How will I know how much to pay? I work all day and I won't be at home to greet the driver.
Easy. You don't need to be at home. The delivery person will leave you a copy of your oil ticket. You will see the number of gallons delivered, the price per gallon, and the "cash" discount if paid within 30 days.

Heating: Delivery

How does automatic delivery work and does it cost extra?
We monitor your fuel usage and deliver when needed. This means you will never have to make another trip to your tank again! There is no cost for this service.

How often do you deliver to my town?
Because of our many area offices we are able to accommodate your delivery and service needs virtually any day of the week. Monday through Friday our trucks are routed to be in all areas between two and five days a week.

Do you have 24-hour service?
Yes, we have the best in-house service technicians in the business ready to handle any service problems you may have, day or night, 365 days a year.

Do you have in-house financing for installations?
Yes, we will finance an installation at 9.9% for a period of up to three (3) years. Other payment arrangements can be made on an individual basis with our credit manager.

Do you have service contracts?
Yes, our contract offers the most comprehensive and best value around. With our plans you can rest assured that your heating system will be kept in optimum condition year round. It even covers a yearly "tune-up" for your system. We can also cover your oil tank in the event of leakage.

I am interested in some new options for heating my home. Is there someone who will come to my home to discuss options? Is there a charge for this service?
A salesperson would be glad to meet you at your convenience and go over your options. He or she will cover the pro's and con's of each option and help you find the solution which is best for you.

Heating: Oil

Why does the price of oil fluctuate so frequently?
Oil prices change along with market conditions. You can rest assured that our price will always be fair and competitive. We suggest signing up for one of our Price Protection Plans so you can have peace of mind throughout the entire heating season.

I just bought a house that is heated with oil. I am not familiar with oil or how my system works. Do you have any one that can explain my heating system to me?
We will send someone out at your convenience to thoroughly explain your heating system to you. He or she will even suggest ways to better utilize your system to make your home more energy efficient.

Heating: Propane

I am unhappy with my current propane supplier. What does it cost to switch over to your company and what is involved?
The switch is extremely simple and the only fee is associated with the Gas Check that must be completed for safety reasons. A salesperson will briefly inspect your tank(s) and piping to make sure it is installed properly. Then our technician will swap our tank with your existing tank and go over a few safety tips with you. Then you can notify your previous supplier and they will pick up their tank and send you a refund for the unused propane.

Your propane prices are a lot lower than what I am paying now. If I switch to you will your price go up dramatically in a year or so?
No, we do not use low price as a "bait" and then raise it dramatically in the future. You will continue to receive the same competitive pricing and excellent service for as long as you remain a customer.

I use propane for a cook stove or dryer only. My current company charges rent for their tank. Do you charge rent for your tank in this situation?
No, we do not charge rent for our tank when used for a cook stove or dryer.

I am buying a gas appliance. How do I get the propane?
First we come to your home and perform a site inspection. This is a courtesy call at no charge. Our sales staff will need to furnish information to our install crew such as the placement of the propane tank, length of piping, the location of the appliance, and other necessary information. We'll then supply you with an installation date and you'll be up and running in no time.

Heating: Key terms

What is a "K Factor" and "Degree Day"?
An easy way to explain these terms is to compare them to how you drive your car. The K Factor is the "miles per gallon" your house gets, similar to the miles per gallon your car gets. The Degree Days are the number of accumulated miles your home can go before it needs a delivery. Just like your car can only go so many miles before you need to stop and gas up.
